Alas, an electric sports car, the Tzero, built by AC Propulsion is powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in 3 hours. The car will go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 150mph with a distance of 300 miles on a single charge.
Right now the price is $200,000, but if mass produced the price would drop to where it would be affordable by everyone. With recharging done with solar panels transportation would be virtually free. Alas, that's the problem. Free is a word that causes corporate heads to go spastic. Why create a free running car, affordable by everyone, when they can charge you for cars that run on gas or hydrogen, etc.?
You would think that our government would mandate all cars be electric by next year--if we are running out of oil as it claims. Either our 'leaders' are insane or they're lying to us.
