Today American troops killed 14 Shiites.
"U.S. and Iraqi forces have been locked in street battles with Shiite militias since late March in Sadr City, a slum of 2.5 million people and the base of anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr's Mahdi Army."
Is it just me or does anyone else see the total insanity of this US occupation of Iraq?
When Silvestre Reyes,chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, was asked [after five years of fighting] who Al Qaeda were--Sunni or Shiites-- he didn’t know.
On the day in 2003 when Iraqi mobs toppled the statue of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad, Bush was so god damn ignorant of the Middle East situation that he didn't even know Sunnis and Shiites have hated each other for over 1,400 years. And that by installing a puppet government under al-Maliki would only cause more hatred.
The US found itself fighting Sunnis who wanted the power it had given to the Shiites. Years of death and destruction followed until moron Bush put Betrayus in charge of 'THE SURGE' which was supposed to put everything right.
But what the surge boils down to is that the US started paying Sunnis cash money not to kill US troops.
Now enter al-Sadr, head of millions of Iraqi Shiites who don't want US puppet al-Maliki as their prime minister. The result is the US is now fighting the Shiites. And the Shiites are fighting the Shiites--and Al Qaeda, which is Sunnis, are fighting the US paid Sunnis and the US.
As Republican Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey pointed out “A lot of people fear that as quickly as these guys [the Sunnis] switched from being enemies, insurgents, terrorists killing Americans, killing Iraqi troops, and now being on the payroll, in effect, of the U.S. government, they could flip right back very quickly if they weren’t on the payroll of the U.S. government.”
Bush says the US is committed to never leaving Iraq until there is victory--but no one in his god damn administration seems to know what that is....
