Chris the other browsers you might want to look at are

Firefox

and

Opera

For Apple fans there is also Safari, which I haven't used.

I use Chrome on my netbook, because it is faster, but still use IE on my desktop because there are some things I just prefer about it, and there are still many websites out there that don't come up as designed in Chrome. My website, however, loads fine. You should all check it out. \:\)

IE has some nonstandard elements that the others don't have. If I were having my website designed, and the webdesigner included elements that couldn't be viewed by 40% of my target customers, I would be pretty pissed off. Anyone who still thinks they can write websites for only IE are very far behind the times.

Even with newer copies of IE you sometimes need to put it into "compatibility" mode to allow you to read old broken sites.
