I know the seasonal thing is happening right now, but I would go as far to say that the trend has been happening for a couple of years. When I first started publishing stories here, there were 15 +/- daily. In the last year I'd say an average day is less than half that. My 2 bits FWIW, HG

I've been cooped up inside most days because over here in the Philippines, the rainy season has started which might explain why I've been dropping by here more often only to find a more or less empty forum.

Or if he could put a more prominent link on the main website. A banner advertising the Aunties section would be nice! But overall, I think the site is slowing down. I am not sure. The quality is still up, just not the quantity. I think the tool Art uses to keep the site fresh (and profitable), locking up the stories older than thirty days into the archives, is starting to backfire on him a bit. The stories of lesser quality are automatically removed. Only the popular stories ranked 7.0 or higher get kept. It is a very good and ingenious system that I don't want to ever see him change. But I know the 'free' users get frustrated at the 'wall' that keeps them away from the good stuff. A short term solution might be to drop the monthly subscription requirement. Make a one time purchase to get a month, three, six or a year at a time. Repetitive purchases scare a lot of customers off. I have started mentioning the forums at the close of every story I post. If some of the other more popular and influential authors did the same, I think that would make quite a bit of a difference. If someone were to send messages to all the Top List authors, I think that might do it. Art could do that easier than anyone. But the ebb and flow will rebound soon. By the end of summer at the latest. Although I must confess I do have the nagging worry that the forum waters aren't an ocean, but is instead a lakebed that is slowly drying up. $\:\($ Sextified Edited by Sextified (07/10/11 02:22 PM)
