I was thinking that for some stories I'd like to see someone do some illustrations.
Excellent idea Girlie. I have been meaning to ask Art about that myself. Here is why; The very first story that I wrote for ES back in 2008 was based on a TGP (Thumbnail Gallery Post) that I found on the net. The reason I wrote the story was it fit a fantasy that I had shared with my wife, and the woman depicted in the pictures had a striking resemblance to her.
When I wrote the story I had no intentions of posting it anywhere, it was for my wife, and I fit the pictures into the story text, where they matched the description of the scene, and printed the whole thing for her to read. I later decided to post the story on ES, removing the picture of course, but I had forgot to remove my tags "Insert pic #3 here" and "Insert pic #5 here", etc. As you may imagine I received a couple dozen requests for the corresponding pictures. I have recently removed that story, and am giving it a complete once over, with intentions to republish once I am happy with the rework. Not there yet.
For me to be able to include the pictures appropriately placed within the text and republish that story to the ES site, ART would have to get permission to use them, because someone other than me owns the copyrights. But I am sure that a little commercial added to the story, would suffice to inspire the website to grant such permission. In fact I have other TGP's that I had saved with the intent of writing a story to the pictures.

I guess it really comes down to how ART wants his site to look. Does he want to have an Illustrated category? And does he want the hassle of obtaining permission to use material where some one else owns the copyright? I think there is a great marketing opportunity here for websites, but as an Author I would want to be compensated for adding value to the site.
Now that I think about it, I think that I have seen a story on ES, where the author did insert a picture of herself at the begining of the story. That's not a copyright issue for ART, but it just indicates that pictures can be included. I think?
