Here is what the ES Story Challenge used to be, as I remember:
There was a certain given set of circumstances and/or characters and then people could enter and admit their stories. A set of volunteer judges would read each entry (with the author's name stripped out) and rate it in several catagories (overall quality, how faithful it was to the challenge, hotness, whatever) and then the people running the challenge would tabulate everything and a winner was declared. Typically the winner got to choose the parameters for the next challenge. I did it a couple times and judged a couple times. It was a fun little thing.
I presume that section was dropped due to lack of interest, as that seems to be the case here. Just to gauge the interest I might post a new thread in a couple of days to see in this whole idea gets any traction.
In my spare time I'll keep working on the contest starter opening and the sample couple's attempt at getting selected to join the Mansion's swinging club.
Hopefully I'll get it done soon and can send it to you to get your thoughts on it.
I'll post it eventually under a different account no matter what.
Well it doesn't look like we have any takers for the challenge.
I am still toying with the idea of just having participants share their thoughts on a story outline. The purpose is to be more of a creative challenge for me or anyone elese who might want to write the story based on the discussion that ensues.
I will wait to see if there is any new posts to this thread over the weekend. If not I will review all of your comments again and see if I can come up with a way to proceed following my initial intent.
