Jake, I felt like that about my first book, but I do assure you that the day you deliver the manuscript absolutely final version to the publisher, you will find yourself wondering what people do when they are not writing a book.

It is exciting to see a copy of your book, but the real thrill is the first time someone asks you to autograph their copy.

I've completed 2 books so far (and working on several) all are non-erotic and I'm going down the agent route rather than the publisher as alot of the decent ones do not accept unsolicited work - but there is a site I've been told of that you can sell your books on places like Amazon and they'll be printed only then. Then they'll take the cost of making the book out of the price you get (and you set it) for the sale. My boy told me about it and I'm going to check it out this weekend.

But I do know that anyone who does ask for money up front or not offering a contract is trying it on or really has no clue what they're doing - both you need to steer clear of!

The story was only to be used as one story in a collection of work by various authors. Much like the "Penthouse Letters" and "Variations" were.

I'm afraid the only way I could write an entire paperback would be if it were a collection of my own stories.

Congratulations and the best of luck! 'Fraid I can't offer much in the form of advice but it seems there's no shortage of that here.

I've lost track of the offers i've had most of which i've dispatched into the recycling bin after a polite refusal.

Why?

i don't write for money, the one thing about this website that stands above the rest is the fact that authors get free access to the sites entire database if they are prepared to give something back to others....and write.

the standard on this site is pretty high and I feel honoured that I can give something to others without asking for money. in return, i get a place to post my work and also get to see what people think.

i'll never say never....but it will take one heck of an offer to tempt my writing skills away from here.

But then again, that's just the way i am....shuggie
