You're not going to believe this, but, I just happen to have green eyes AND fancy myself a Belle. I even own my own magnolia tree.

I think it's anonymy. Pronounced anon-a-my (long i sound at the end.)
Or should that be anonymii, like radii although I think loci gets away with just one "i"
Anonymy sounds good in isolation, but...
In reply to:
Use it in a sentence? Okay.
It was a dark and gloomy night at the forum. Confusion wound through threads of conversation because the anonymy had increased on the message board. (Insert CNN like music)
It kind of sticks in my ears in this sentence. Just doesn't flow.
Oh well can't have everything I guess.

Reckon the plural of anonymous should be anony-mice. Works in so many ways, don't you agree?
I'd been going to make a joke along the lines of anony-mice before, particularly with respect to hiding.

Sorry JennyAnne, I think anonymice sounds better in this sentance. Not that I'd dare argue after reading what your character gets up to with "cinnamon scented gel"

Okay I will say, I haven't read through everything that has been stated, but I wanted to add a few things. If you have any questions about the voting system or ideas on it then feel free to message Art, or put it in the second forum on the board, as Art will be more likely to see it there.
As of right now, Art has done alot to make the voting system as fair as possible. Nobody can vote on a story more than once. People that have questionable voting histories have been flagged and in some cases those poeoples votes are not counted. And yes he has caught people that have set up mutiple accounts to vlote people down.
Okay so there may be cases where people vote low on purpose, but come on it does not mean every low vote is an author trying to vote everyone down. Not everything appeals to everyone. And remember, there are many people that are here to just get off and use that, rather than grammar or such, as their voting scale.

Then, anonymice it is. Let's contact Websters. lol. I know that anonymous is an adjective and all that, however the Internet has brought about new challenges for word definitions and concepts. I wondered if anyone else had ever asked this question, so I googled. I found another discussion like this. The anonymous debate and I found this remark "I fully endorse the sentiments of the pro-Alba Anonymii (plural of Anonymous)." here a website that argues about who's the prettiest starlet.
I thought it was funny.

Hi Jennyanne and hi to all who posted, As I read the posts, it was like Comedy Central, no, better then CC. I say this as a compliment. I also thought, as I was reading, how about a voting system with the vote: "For" or "Against". Also, how about adding two more: "Maybe" & "Anonymous" "Anonymous": for those who vote but wish to remain nameless.
As for the plural of Anonymous: As the English Language continues to add new words as well as change those in use, why not pick our own word via a contest.

Hello Red B. aka Richard!
I think that humor is the best way to handle situations that seem to be getting intense. I also believe in Astrology, love at first sight, life after death, and that Al Gore did NOT invent the Internet. But, yeah, sometimes a laugh turneth away wrath.
Personally, I think allowing an anonymous or guest id to post and vote and comment is not a good idea. It leads to confusion in a forum, as this thread as shown. An automatic numbering system would be better than nothing. Then we could refer to Anonymous 45 or Anonymous 1,897. As it is, no Anonmice are forced to take responsibilty for their own remarks and can say what they please.

Start it off! I'll vote.

Hi Jennyanne, Thank you for your kind words. I believe we will always have people who wish to remain anonymous. It would be nice to see a name or number.

I would have to open my mouth and stick my foot......:(
ok here goes (this is in fun)
Singular for Anonymous: "Chad" or "Hanging Chad" Plural for Anonymous: "Chads" of "Hanging Chads"

Al Gore did NOT invent the Internet???? I'm crushed. Ok, who did invent the internet?
Sincerely, Richard P.S. I mentioned in another post, I signed my post: "Red B." in honor of a Southern Belle who has her own Magnolia Tree.
