I'm curious,is it possible to edit the stories already posted without deleting and resubmitting them? I'm not talking about only correcting the grammatical errors, but also making slight improvements in the dialogue.

Authors can replace either the text or the descriptive header at anytime. The are also allowed to change it's category for whatever reason they wish. Some change the category to attract more readers, or at the suggestion that it might belong somewhere else.

Changes go to the submit queue and can take from eight to forty-eight hours to take affect. All depends on the author's timing and the webmasters workload.

I totally replaced one chapter just recently. Too many errors, at least in my opinion, to leave.

As far as correcting someone else's work?

Not with out their consent and permission.

Thanks! That answers my question.

Yeah, I meant the author re-editing his/her own stories. I certainly wouldn't want anyone modifying my stories without my knowledge, and I have the same respect for any other author.

Almost all of my submissions are in drastic need some sprucing up. I have one here that I posted thinking it was error free. I returned a month later to check my stats and found it was riddled with mistakes. "Me" in place of My" seems to be a chronic error as well as a few others I could name.

My earliest stories were written during a tragic time of my life. I started writing as a means of combatting my grief and my anger.

When I re-read those stories,It's apparent that I wasn't thinking too clearly as I wrote them. I can recall that at the time, no matter how many times I checked them, I still found mistakes I missed once they'd been submitted. Perhaps now with the help of a better spell-checker I can make them a little more enjoyable to read.
